Wolfram Alpha

This new lil’ search engine thingie called Wolfram Alpha (wiki) is incredible. Like, seriously creepily incredible. Skynet incredible.

Anything that can give multiple answers to \int x^x\,dx (dashed off in Maple syntax, int(x^x,x), since that’s what I’m most familiar with), is fine by me. (Though it doesn’t come quite clean and “know” that there ain’t no way to say that with the help of simple functions.)

It graphs and it maps! And a “computational knowledge engine” is such a mellifluous name after all the meaningless spiritualist-marketingfest crud most sites use. And now, sorry, having too much of a math-geek rush to say anything more coherent.
